Evolution

The theory of evolution is foundational to the sciences, and to biology in particular. In the majority of high school biology classrooms nationwide, it is either not taught or inaccurately taught.* We teach evolution through hands-on hypothesis-driven experiments, allowing students to explore various questions within evolutionary biology, including:

1. The mechanisms of evolution: mutation, drift, migration and selection.

2. Simulations of evolution using objects or computers.

3. Phylogenies and the tree of life.

4. The timeline for the origin and evolution of life on earth.

*Please see our Resources page for further details on this nationwide problem.
